Our Story
We didn’t grow up dreaming of building a brand. We come from a weaving family where sarees were once a way of life, filled with stories, skill, and quiet strength. Nearly 20 years ago, that chapter paused, and life took a different direction.
Like many middle-class families, we chose stability. We stepped into 9-to-5 corporate jobs, built our routines, and stayed within the comfort of what felt secure. Everything was settled, and we were comfortable — but somewhere inside us, our roots never left.
The idea of Nirnaya didn’t come from a perfect plan. It came from a moment of truth. In between our everyday lives, we started questioning what we truly wanted and where we belonged. One simple thought changed everything — why not sarees?
So we decided to take a step forward.
Starting wasn’t easy. We had no guide, no business background, and no clear roadmap — just three sisters willing to learn and take the risk. One of the biggest challenges was helping our parents understand our decision and trusting our choice to follow our dreams.
We travelled to different places, met people, and understood fabrics with our own hands. We learned about weaves, quality, and sourcing, searched for vendors, asked questions, made mistakes, and improved. We did everything ourselves — from cleaning and arranging to managing orders, becoming our own models, photographers, editors, and managers, while also being the founders, workers, and learners. We handled it all because we believed in it.
Slowly, with effort and consistency, we built this business from the ground up. Not with shortcuts — but with hard work, patience, and belief.
This journey continues — and we are just getting started.
